Web Cam, Weather & Newsletter

We would like to make our web site more dynamic and up-to-date in the hope that existing and prospective clients may find it more informative. To this end we have introduced our Newsletter Page and plan to up-date it regularly with news about Snowise, Châtel and the Portes du Soleil. We intend to include recent photographs so you can see for yourself what the conditions are like and, whenever possible, give some indication of the weather forecast. Our Webcam is live and updated daily during the summer & winter months

The Weather Report

Today (Friday 14th December) will see plenty of sunshine in the mountains with very little wind. Low levels near Lake Geneva, though, will be quite breezy. Tonight will be dry and cold with temperatures likely to drop to -12 at 1200 metres.
Tomorrow (Saturday) will begin grey and overcast at low levels but in the mountains it is expected to be sunny all day. Sunday will be much the same with plenty of sun on the ski slopes.
High pressure over the alps will help keep the settled conditions into next week but some high cloud is likely on Wednesday and Thursday.

Snowise News

We are delighted to welcome Kate and Phil to the Snowise team. Phil has been skiing since before he went to school but last week was the first time Kate had been on snow. (see photos).

This season has got off to a great start with plenty of snow down to low levels. The general photo shows the top of the Foilleuse at Morgins ten days ago and we have had another 60 cm since then!

Chatel News

The ski lifts at Pre-la-Joux were open last weekend and will be open again from tomorrow. In addition the slopes at Linga will also open tomorrow.
Super Chatel is due to open on 22 December.

PDS News

Avoriaz has been open for the last three weeks and we look forward to the link being open via Linderets.

Regional News
There are art exhibitions in Martigny and Yvoire.

The Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny has at least two major art exhibitions each year.

INTERNET
There is now a public internet connection at the Tourist Office which may be used with a phone card between 08.30 and 19.00 each day.
